In our current society, everything has to be done faster and at the same time more accurately. Automation plays a crucial role in this. Moxa, represented in Belgium by Technolec, develops reliable network solutions that allow devices to connect, but also to communicate and cooperate with systems, processes and people. With the ioThinx 4500 series, the specialist offers IIoT-ready modular and cyber-secure controllers and I/Os with cloud connectivity and high computing power for precision control. ioThinx products are designed to bring I/O data from your IIoT applications to the cloud quickly and securely. Meet the ioThinx 4510 series remote I/O solution.
With the ioThinx 4510 series, Moxa introduces an advanced modular remote I/O product with a unique hardware and software design, ideal for various data collection applications in industry. This solution offers users numerous advantages in terms of configuration, installation and connectivity, as well as compliance with IEC 62443 regarding cybersecurity.

One of the biggest problems in modular remote I/O setups is the duplication of configuration settings to the existing modules with different combinations. After adding, moving or deleting a module, the settings of the unmodified modules, including the software's Modbus address and RESTful APIs, have to be reconfigured. The ioThinx 4510's user-friendly web configuration tool is specially designed to make configuration and reconfiguration easy. You only need to make a few simple changes without reconfiguring. Simply set the modules you want to change and keep the others as they are. Moreover, the web interface of the ioThinx 4510 supports unique module/channel names. This feature also applies to Modbus TCP, MQTT and RESTful API, saving users a lot of time on development and implementation.
The ioThinx 4510 supports Modbus RTU Master for collecting data from serial meters. That serial data can be converted to various protocols, including Modbus TCP, SNMP, MQTT and RESTful, allowing users to retrieve the data in the protocol of their choice. This two-in-one design reduces system complexity and overall installation time. Moreover, you can extend the life of older devices by connecting them to Ethernet and accessing them using a preferred protocol.
The unique mechanical design of this ioThinx 4510 reduces the time needed for assembly and disassembly. In fact, screwdrivers and other tools are not needed, including for wiring.
The unique mechanical design of this ioThinx 4510 reduces the time needed for assembly and disassembly. In fact, screwdrivers and other tools are not needed: neither for mounting the modules on a DIN rail, nor for connecting the wiring for both communication and I/O signals. Moreover, no tools are needed to remove the ioThinx from a DIN rail, as this is done with a locking and unlocking tab.
Most IT engineers use SNMPv1/v2c/v3, MQTT or RESTful API protocols, but IA engineers are more familiar with operational technologies (OT), such as Modbus. With the ioThinx 4510, both IT and OT engineers can easily collect data from the same I/O device. The ioThinx 4510 speaks several protocols, including Modbus/TCP for OT engineers, as well as SNMP and RESTful API for IT engineers. The ioThinx 4510 retrieves I/O data and converts the data to each of these protocols, allowing you to connect your applications easily and effortlessly.
