Schneider Electric is increasingly committed to carbon neutrality. Therefore, the company announces its entry into the EV100 initiative and commits to achieving the transformation to an all-electric fleet by 2030.
Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, aims to reduce carbon emissions to the maximum. The company therefore announces its joining the EV100 initiative of The Climate Group to. Moreover, it is also fully committed to an ecological fleet. All commercial vehicles will be replaced by electric vehicles by 2030. The announcement is linked to the 2020 Progress and Insights Annual Report published by The Climate Group. It shows that demand for electric cars is growing and that organisations are making faster progress towards meeting their carbon reduction targets when the right models are available.

The IPCC special report is clear: we need to reduce our global CO2 emissions by 45% by 2030 if we want to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C. Electric mobility is linked to decarbonisation, decentralisation and the digitalisation of energy and is one of the main keys to achieving this goal.
However, the introduction of electric vehicles is not happening fast enough. With this new commitment, Schneider Electric aims to prove that a paradigm shift is possible in the short term without sacrificing user comfort. By 2030, Schneider Electric will have replaced its 14,000 vehicles from the current fleet with electric cars in more than 50 countries worldwide. In addition, the Group will install electric vehicle charging infrastructure in key office buildings and factories by 2030.
In addition to transitioning to a fleet of electric vehicles, Schneider Electric offers other companies the support they need to transform their fleets. The Group invests in and works closely with start-ups such as eIQ Mobility. This start-up provides consultancy and software for the electrification of fleets. In addition, Schneider Electric also collaborates with DST, a company that provides logistics services and has a fleet of more than 16,000 electric vehicles. Schneider Electric is also an investor and partner of Volta, an organisation with an innovative business model to ensure that developers' and drivers' electric cars can be charged for free, in exchange for publicity.
