Siemens and Enlighted, a leading building technology company that is part of the Siemens Group, announce a strategic partnership with the Zumtobel Group, a global provider of lighting solutions. Together, they aim to drive the adoption of smart building technologies, including intelligent IoT lighting, setting new global standards for efficiency and sustainability in building operations.
At the heart of the partnership is the technical integration of Enlighted's leading intelligent sensors into the lighting solutions offered by the Zumtobel Group's Zumtobel and Thorn brands. The result is a comprehensive range of intelligent IoT lighting solutions designed to improve user comfort and enable sustainable, energy-efficient building operation. The partnership focuses in particular on commercial buildings, higher education campuses and hospitals.

The partnership aims to accelerate access to technological solutions and services that can further contribute to the decarbonisation of buildings, increase user comfort and ensure cost-effective operation, building on the strengths of both companies' portfolios. Ready-to-use solutions, based on the Zumtobel Group's luminaires and lighting systems and Enlighted's special sensors for new buildings and modernisation, optimise delivery processes and simplify orders. Enlighted's wireless network design ensures rapid implementation, eliminates the need for complex cabling and guarantees accurate installations. Finally, intelligent lighting configurations, combined with smart IoT data collection and analysis, will be used to create a real-time location system (RTLS) that tracks the location and movement of company assets and (people with) badges in buildings for advanced operational decision-making. The Enlighted portfolio is part of the Siemens Xcelerator Marketplace, an open digital business platform for accelerated digital transformation.
The partnership will also enable Siemens to expand its range of solutions and services for customers and supports energy reduction, decarbonisation and sustainability goals through comprehensive end-to-end programmes.

By accessing best-in-class building data collected with Enlighted's intelligent IoT sensors, decision-makers can optimise operations, prioritise energy efficiency, and create spaces that are more comfortable, sustainable, and future-proof.
Enlighted and the Zumtobel Group will present their partnership at the Zumtobel stand at the Light + Building 2024 trade fair, from 3 to 8 March at the Forum Messe Frankfurt, Germany (Forum 0 / A10). The range on display will include digital services, innovative lighting control systems and visionary lighting solutions aimed at increasing comfort in the workplace and supporting sustainable, energy-efficient building operation. In addition, the Zumtobel Group will present new product developments and its vision for the future of lighting in a dedicated “Concept Space”.
